MONTSERRAT & WINE EXPERIENCE is a great idea for people who would like to visit the incredible Benedictine monastery of Montserrat and wander through vineyards on the same day. You will enter the Basilica of Montserrat before the crowds arrive and soak into the beauty of the place. For more than 1200 years, Benedictine monks have lived atop Montserrat, “the serrated mountain” which rockets up from the valley floor northwest of Barcelona. Urban legend claims that the mountain was carved by little angels with golden saws; geologists blame nature at work. During the visit to this magical place your personal guide will give you all the explanations and make you feel the essence of the sight. Afterwards we will drive all around the mountain to reach the valley where the wine cellars are located. Penedés region is the perfect place to learn about Spain’s much-loved drink. Visiting one of the most prestigious wineries with an expert you will learn how they elaborate their wines and cava (cava is a high quality sparkling wine, the Catalan version of champagne). And of course you will finish the visit tasting an exclusive selection of wines. Afterwards you’ll visit a top quality local restaurant for a delicious lunch with regional dishes. Our philosophy is to customize and personalize our tours, that’s the reason why we don’t include lunch in the final price. Instead, you will choose a la carte what you want to eat and drink. Expect to pay €30-40/ per person depending on your order.
